How Does MacUpdate Work? ------------------------- MacUpdate determines if a file needs to be "updated" by comparing the Modification Date of the file in the “source” directory to the Modification Date of the file with the same name in the “destination” directory. You may configure MacUpdate so it will also create files it finds in the source but does NOT find in the destination. You may also configure MacUpdate to synchronize in both directions. MacUpdate searches the ENTIRE sub-directory tree of the source and destination directories. This means that EVERYTHING in the source directory will get updated into the destination directory. This feature is especially useful for complete and easy backups of entire folders or volumes. MacUpdate will save the user time by ONLY copying the files and directories that have changed on the source to the destination directory or volume. In the 2-Mac user scenario, MacUpdate is most useful when the files the user wants to keep updated are organized in a hierarchical manner (for example, by project, or by account number).
